William Hanson Elliott

December 27, 1925 - February 3, 2010

William Hanson Elliott, 84, of Sanders, KY. passed away on Wednesday, February 3 at his residence. He was born December 27, 1925 in Jonesville, KY. to the late Sherman Elliott and Bessie Jacobs Elliott. He worked for many years as a glass blower, having worked for Ball Brothers, Anchor-Hocking and Industrial Glass. He more recently worked as a custodian on the I-75 rest area near Florence. He proudly served his nation during the Korean War as a member of the US Army. He was a former member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville and he was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife: Alma Chipman Elliott. He has 3 daughters: Sharon Barger and husband Gary of Bluffton, IN., Sheree Elliott of Carrollton, KY. and Sheila Reed and husband Howard of Aurora, IN. He has 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Nannie Marie Crouch and by 2 brothers: Leonard Thomas Elliott and John Hall Elliott.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 9, at 1:00 pm at the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, February 8 from 5-9 pm in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home and also on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 am until time of the service. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
